Finding my dream apartment

Finding my dream apartment cost me a lot of money, time, gas and unnecessary driving. Call me picking but if I won’t live anywhere, I have to love the place before I pack my suitcase. Moving to a place because I was desperate cost me a low credit score in the past, so this time I wanted to take my time and be sure this is where I will live before I buy my own house.

Let’s get in the losing money..

⁃ Application fee for any apartment is nonrefundable whether you like the apartment or not. I apply for a beautiful apartment downtown without a tour and my likeness was base on photos and reviews. I will stop you here, never ever apply for an apartment online without getting a tour of the place. I did that and when I went over to see the apartment I was completely disappointed and dissatisfied. The apartment didn’t look the same as the picture and the apartment charges $300 for parking lot space ( which was hiding on their website) and all kinds of fees! four apartments did that to me which resulted in me losing $240 dollars.

Oh my Time was wasted as well.

⁃ I drove 15-20 minutes sometimes to get to the location of the apartment and I will wait forever. I remember waiting for one apartment manager for almost an hour and didn’t get to tour the apartment. I drove to another location for 45 minutes only for the manager to tell me no available rooms but their website admitted to having several rooms available. You are wondering why I didn’t call before driving, the answer is they never pick their phones especially when they know you have called before.

Cash spend on gas

⁃ At least I spend whopping bucks of $200 for gas on week one and week two without any results. I also had a friend drive me to the location that wasn’t worth taking the trip and we end up eating up in the fast-food restaurant lol due to stress of not finding what I want.

The Good news

⁃ Out of frustration, as I was driving back disappointed, I had this last apartment in mind and I was reluctant to call but I did call anyway. The assistant manager was super nice on the phone and even offer to meet me the next day. I was shocked, I said this is different but I like it to know more. I couldn’t meet up with that appointment but the manager of that property call back with a better gesture and volunteer to help me with the process. Oh, I was surprised, I could not believe what I was hearing lol. Well immediately apply without seeing the apartment.

I live in an apartment I never tour

⁃ The manager of my apartment is one of the kindest people I’ve ever met in my life. She was willing to do all she can for me to move in that week. They were having a promotion for that week and she didn’t want me to miss out on it. The manager makes sure I got $1600 off my down payment and a $500 gift card during move in. I finally got an hour off work to go and signed my lease without looking at the apartment. I only apply and decided to live in my apartment base on my manager’s interaction with me.
