The year 2020 started well, it felt so good and life felt full of promises, and I’m sure we all had the feeling that this year would be different. Surely, after all the things we had to cope with over the past years, this year had to be different🤦♀️ and indeed it is a different one.
10 LESSONS LEARNED IN 2020
1. STOP OR YOU WILL BE STOPPED
This comes first because the world was stopped just a few months ago, Lockdown and social isolation have meant a whole new way of living, The halt of Everything, it felt like Mother Earth said Enough is Enough, she needed to heal, she needed to rest. Whatever the reason for the stop on the world, I think its a great message for us all *STOP OR BE STOPPED*, I mean this in the kindest way.
2. ASK FOR HELP
I don’t mean going around begging, asking for help comes in many forms, sometimes Asking God, the Universe, Spirit to show you what you need to see, stop struggling, and ask. Some People genuinely love to help so opening your mouth and asking is a great thing for you to do but then ask wisely so as to avoid being labeled a beggar.
I know we worry about all kinds of things, learn to ground and breathe. When you allow panic to invade your body, it changes everything, when you learn to ground yourself, breathe into it and let go, things will get much easier. For me when I feel that awful feeling rises up through my body, I have few strategies, one is to walk, two is to practice energy management and three is to write. Walking helps to clear your mind, looking after your energy helps you to stay calm, balanced, and connects you to mother Earth, and when you write you can declutter the last remnants and make space for inner peace.
4. INVEST IN YOUR PERSONAL GROWTH
Invest in something that enriches your life. You might feel fearful that money is going out and at the moment nothing is coming in, *I get it* but You have to invest in yourself if you expect others to invest in you but it doesn’t need to be cash it could be some other resource.
5. PRACTICE STRONG BOUNDARIES
For me, I have always considered myself a nice person but over the years I have allowed myself to be taken for granted and then I have felt deep resentment, then I decided this year that *NO* is a complete word. And when someone thought that no didn’t mean no, they soon learned that I do not take prisoners. *In case you are thinking that I must have been a pushover before. Not at all, more that I have practiced open borders, whereas now, I realize that this serves no one*.
6. EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED
Well that’s an understatement, isn’t it? The world is on lockdown as we work to find a resolution to the virus and no one expected 2020 to be this way. Stay calm this too shall pass
7. DO THE THINGS YOU LOVE
this is self-explanatory, at every step be yourself, be happy, and above all whatever makes you happy should be your priority.
8. PRACTICE GRATITUDE
As bizarre as it seems, I am grateful for the oddness of this year, I continue to discover more about myself and who I want to become. When you stop and connect to your divine inner wisdom, it guides you yo fully understand a more fulfilling path to gratitude.
9. TELL MORE PEOPLE TO FUCK OFF
This is isn’t about being rude, it just gets rid of the toxic people who take up your space, you are a beautiful soul, and you deserve to be with people who nourish you and not destroy you. Also, given where we find ourselves, protecting your heart, energy, sanity, and space are vital now. I have experienced a wonderful community but also some completely ignorant and rude people. The world will never be the same again *choose your company wisely*.
10. LISTEN TO SPIRIT
Spirit for me is the team that guides you through life. You may of course call spirit something else, I have learned that the voices in my head are there to guide me. Now I listen to them. In fact, I listen to all the signals I receive. Listening to spirit is working for me as I feel like I am surrounded and supported.
People will still be jerks, just don’t react, you don’t need to overstock, Eat everything Remember your parents telling you to clear your plates *there was a reason* don’t waste your food, there are still many that don’t have that luxury. Sometimes rules aren’t for breaking.
