Selfcare is a must!

What comes in mind when the word Body Odor comes out of your partners, friends colleagues, etc? You probably will be thinking “I’m Smelling.” but here’s a little insight about body odor.

BODY ODOR-Is perceived as a serious unpleasant smell our bodies produce when bacteria that live on our skin break down. This result into us sweating and that sweat turns into acids which bring out unpleasant smells of the body.

When our body gives off an awful scent that comes off offensive or unpleasant, that awful scent is known as body odor. Sweat itself is virtually odorless to humans but it is the rapid multiplication of bacteria in the presence of sweat which turns into acids that eventually cause the unpleasant smell.

Some individuals can be identified by their unique body smell. Our body odor can be influenced by our diet, gender, health, and medication.

*What Causes Body Odor*

Body odor is caused by the breaking down of sweat which is largely linked to the apocrine glands in our skin. Apocrine glands are found in the groin, armpits and around the nipples. Apocrine glands are mainly responsible for body odor because the sweat they produce is high in protein, which enhances the bacteria on our skin to easily break down.

??Here’s some treatments that’s going to help you to control your body odor. ??

1.Hygiene: you should always take a shower at least once or twice a day with warm or cold water. Some experts explain that warm water helps kill off bacteria that are present on your skin.

2.Clothing: Natural fibers such as Cotton, Silk, and Wool allow your skin to breathe and evaporate sweat from the body.

3. Avoid spicy foods: Curry, garlic, and other spicy foods have the potential of making you sweat out more pungent. Some experts believe that a diet high in Red meat may also raise risk of rapid body odor.

4.APPLE CIDER VINEGAR: Soak a cotton ball in apple cider vinegar and rub it on your underarm. Follow this remedy twice daily, wait for 2 to 3 minutes then take your shower.

5.BAKING SODA: Mix 1 tbsp each of baking soda and lemon juice, Apply it to your underarm and other parts where u sweat excessively leave it on for a couple of minutes then wash it off with water.

6.Use Deodorant: The use of deodorant help the body maintain a nice and dry under the armpit. Also that’s not an assurance that the body odor won’t come up often, we have to endeavor to eat right, bath when necessary and pay attention to our body in general.

7.Talk to a doctor: You should see a doctor when your body smells different than usual. For instance a fruity smell could indicate diabetes due to high level of ketones in the bloodstream.

Whatever is worth doing, they say is worth doing right. So if you find yourself in this situation, please do take action. Trust me nobody wants to have a conversation with someone with a body odor that tells you bye-bye even before they begin their conversation.
